My good friend, Tina, decided that this 30th birthday *cough-it’s-a-secret-how-many-she’s-had-by-now-cough* was going to be a Roaring 20’s/Prohibition Night theme. We went to Eve Lounge in San Francisco all dressed to the nines (or twenties).
I wore a black, ruffled tube dress that I’ve worn before and is really nothing to look at. No, the point of this Fashion + Unable post is my Haircessory! Yeeaaahhh!
See, just a few weeks before I learned that her party was going to be a Prohibition themed event, I had bought the feathered creation from Ross for $3.99 on a whim. I’m always thinking I could use a little more crazy fashion-forwardness in my wardrobe, why not a haircessory, right?
Except that once I had it, I had absolutely no guts to wear it anywhere. I mean, San Francisco is pretty liberal when it comes to Fashion. I’m sure I could have gotten away with it and no one would have called me out on it. But c’mon, have you seen the size of that flower? I would have known it was on my head the whole time.
So, thank god for Tina’s party for giving me a reason to wear a giant feathered flower head band without feeling silly. It turned out to be such a big hit with the guys, too! Haha!

I really thought it was a fun, fearless way of adding a little bit of oomph! and noticeability to a simple black dress. But, I’m still pondering on whether I would ever wear it again. I mean, I’m still just me…only sort of fashionably fun and fearless & only for special occasions!
